Smiley Elmore, Sr. (1947 – 2019)
Smiley Elmore, Sr. established Smiley Elmore & Associates in 1970. Smiley Sr. was a licensed Registered Representative and an Independent Life, Accident, Health, Property and Casualty (Home, Auto and Commercial Insurance) and Variable Annuity Agent. He was called home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. Smiley was married to Virginia, a part time Administrative Assistant at Smiley Elmore & Associates and a retiree of the US Post Office. Smiley Sr. and Virginia Elmore were Texas natives but after Smiley Sr. played football at The University of Tulsa in the late 1960s and graduated in 1969, the couple stayed in Tulsa. Smiley and Virginia had a total of four grown kids: Dr. Smiley Elmore, Jr., Ph.D., Derrick Elmore, Christopher and daughter Dr. Precious Elmore-Sanders, Ph.D. Smiley was very active in the community with his philanthropic efforts, and he served on a many of boards and volunteer organizations. He also received a Generational Excellence Award.

Some careers start with a job posting. Mine started with my dad. He’s the reason I got into this business, the person I learned it from, and a big part of why I still love doing it today. I grew up around this business, eventually worked alongside him, and now I’d love to see my daughters become part of the story someday.
