Our Story

About us

After establishing a successful bookkeeping and income tax preparation practice, we realized that many of our clients needed additional assistance in managing their wealth and planning for retirement. Concerned that our client’s needs would not be met elsewhere, we decided to integrate financial planning and wealth management services to our practice.  Since 2006, we have provided these services to our community through an independent advisor’s agreement with Money Concepts Wealth Management and Financial Planning. Through an affiliation agreement with Border Federal Credit Union, we also provide these services to members of the credit union at all branches including Del Rio, Eagle Pass, Crystal City and Laughlin AFB.

Throughout the years, our firm has continuously sought to evolve based on the ever-changing financial industry and to better serve the increasing demands and needs of our clients, and the community. Our team consists of fully licensed financial advisors, enrolled agents, certified bookkeepers and support staff all working to provide our clients a deeper understanding of financial systems, products and services to help them reach their goals and objectives. Through our “wealth transformation” process, we will seek to better understand you, your needs, and your goals so that we can help you implement the concepts that will set you on the path to financial freedom. We understand that our relationship starts with you and not money.

Independent Representation Benefits

As an independent advisor, I am able to provide an array of financial solutions with no proprietary products or constraints. From basic needs to complex strategies, I have the ability to effectively serve you. 

A 10 1/2 year study of investments made over 5,000 mutual funds conducted by Dalbar Financial Services (ending May 31, 1995) illustrates why. Investors who used independent registered representatives outperformed those who didn't by over 17% in their equity fund investments and approximately 21% in their fixed income fund investment.

Financial publications like to show lists of hot funds to buy now, but those recommendations change frequently. Whose list should you believe? With an independent professional on your side, you can gain an understanding of how changing economic and market conditions affect your particular situation. So when you do make a change in your investment portfolio, there's a logical reason behind it.

As an independent registered representative, it is my job to learn who you are, where you are with your investment program and where you want to go.

What does it take to develop a personalized investment program, monitor your investments and keep track of all the paperwork, too? More time than your busy schedule may allow.

By the time important investment news reaches the financial media, it may lose its value for the average investor. As an independent registered representative, I can let you know about an opportunity while it still is an opportunity.

Owning just one investments isn't always the best strategy. Diversifying your investments among a number of different investments can reduce overall risk. Two investments, five investments, what percentage of your investable dollars do you put in income investments, in equity investments, money market investments, in domestic versus international investments?

What difference does independence make? As an independent registered representative, I can offer a myriad of investment options from a wide variety of money managers. A registered representative is only truly independent if his or her firm does not offer any proprietary products; and the firm is not owned or controlled by a financial services company that produces insurance or investment products.
